To practice an online version of this exam, you will be required to enter your answers in calculator syntax. Choose the Calc II Skills Practice link to practice the exam. You will need to create an account for MapleTA and log in. You may take an online test from on campus or off campus.Practice exams are available in three different ways. The only things you are allowed to use when taking this exam are a pencil and an eraser.You will have 40 minutes to finish this exam.If you do not pass this basic skills exam your final grade will be lowered by a half letter grade at the end of the course.To pass the exam students need to get nine out of 12 problems correct. Any mistake means that the answer to the problem is wrong. Each problem will be graded as correct or incorrect.There will be a period of two weeks after the drop date when there will be times to retake the exam. You may retake the exam two times beyond the initial in-class testing. The first attempt will be administered in class before the drop date by each Calculus II instructor.The exams are randomly generated by a computer program out of a collection of problem types with random constants.Antidifferentiation: The exam includes two antiderivative problems that involve finding the antiderivatives of trigonometric, exponential and polynomial functions and the antiderivative of 1/x.Differentiation: The exam includes 10 differentiation problems that require you to know the derivatives of trigonometric, exponential and logarithmic functions and how to apply the constant multiple, sum, power, product, quotient and chain rules.The material on the exam is divided into two areas:. ![]() Some Calculus II students can pass this exam without any studying, but all students should review the topics before taking the exam. Almost all students who passed Calculus I will be expected to pass this test by the second retake with, at most, a moderate amount of studying. Passing this test quickly is very important since if you do not pass this test quickly, it will interfere with the rest of the class.
